Melissa Chastain, Superintendent of the Mexico 59 School District was among eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding performance as an emerging superintendent.
Chastain was nominated for the honor by colleagues in the Northeast MASA District. Chastain was honored during the awards banquet at the MASA Spring Conference on March 22, 2023.
Mexico Board of Education President Keith Louder says they are very pleased with the work Melissa does for the District. "She works tirelessly. She makes sure our students have the best teachers in the classroom."
The award is presented annually to superintendents who are in their second or third year of employment as superintendent and have made a measurable contribution to the school district which they serve.
