The Mexico Area Family YMCA Board of Directors named Brooke Jameson as their new executive director and chief executive officer, effective July 1.
Jameson comes to the Y with 10 years of management and leadership experience, including work for the University of Missouri and Federal, State and Municipal Governments. For the past four years she has served as the recreation supervisor for the City of Mexico and has been heavily involved in project management, budgeting, grant writing and supervising staff. Most recently, Jameson helped lead the design, construction and development of the new Fairgrounds Aquatic Center.
“Brooke’s energy and vision for the Mexico Area YMCA were exactly what we were looking for in our next leader,” Jeff Anderson, Mexico Area YMCA Board of Directors President. “We are excited for what lays ahead for this organization.”
“I am very excited to be joining the YMCA team,” said Jameson. “I am proud to continue the YMCA mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The Mexico and Vandalia communities hold a special place in my heart, and I am committed to promoting the legacy of the YMCA, while continuing to position the Y as a necessary community resource.”
The Mexico Area YMCA also has a branch in Vandalia.
Jameson received a B.S. and M.S. degree from School of Natural Resources at Mizzou along with several professional certifications.
