Mexico High School’s track stars squared off at the sectional track meet Monday. Originally slated for Saturday, heavy rains and thunderstorms prompted a rescheduling.
Before sectionals, districts were held at North Point High School. Here ere are district results.
Haden Frazier won the high jump, 110 hurdles (16.35) and 300 hurdles (41.28) and Thomas Peuster took first in the 3200 (10:39).
Second-place finishes were turned in by Kaylee Hampton, girls shot put, 10.18; and Evan DiBlasi, boys 400, 53.12.
Third-place finishes came from Kaylea Henneberry, girls 3200, 14.18; Anthony Shivers, boys 200, 23.20; boys 4x200 (Shivers, Keegan Ewing, DiBlasi and Tyler Grimes), 1:35; Morgan Grubb, boys pole vault, 3.50
Taking fourth place was Shivers, boys 100, 11.55; and the boys 4x400, Grubb, DiBlasi, Grimes, Shivers, 3:39.
Top-four athletes and teams earned All-District honors and a trip to the sectional meet.
