Moser's and Mexico Help Center team up with meals for the hungry

Moser's employees have been putting grocery bags together for their customers to purchase to help bring Christmas cheer for those in need.

The bags of groceries can be purchased for $5 or $10. The $5 dollar bag includes cans of fruit mix, corn, green beans, spaghetti with meatballs, mac n cheese, long grain rice and corn muffin mix. The $10 bags include fruit mix, cut green beans, corn, tuna in water, sweet potatoes, chicken noodle soup, spaghetti with meatballs, mac n cheese dinner, long grain rice, corn muffin mix and brown gravy mix. Once the bags are purchased the Jolene Rodgers, executive director the Mexico Laura Miller George Help Center, comes and picks them up and they are distributed to Audrain County residents in need.

"This is the first year the Mexico Moser's has participated in this program. Since we started this the week before Thanksgiving, we have sold 18-$10 bags, and nine-$5 bags," said Randy Barnes, general manager at the Mexico Moser’s.

"Thanks to this program there has been 898 pounds donated to the Mexico Help Center," said Jolene Rodgers, executive director at the Mexico Help Center.

Anyone interested in making a purchase will still be able to do so until the end of this year by shopping at the Mexico Moser's.
