MPSD investigating house fire

On Monday, September 18, at approximately 7:52 a.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to the 300 block of West Anderson in reference to a house fire. A caretaker of a home that had been empty for a few months, arrived and found smoke coming from inside. Responding personnel found personal items burning in the hallway. The fire was contained and extinguished, with the items and immediate area suffering significant fire damage and the rest of the house suffering light smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries from the incident.
