It took almost two years to complete, however the job is now done. A brand new gate was recently installed at Simmons' Stables in Mexico.
Plenty of people pitched in to make this happen. Credit goes to Dakota Moore of Turner Welding, Tyler Beamer and Warren Wilson for many hours of hard work. The gates were installed by Dakota Moore, Cody Kuda with Kuda Construction and Andy Smith and Warren Wilson.
Concrete work was done by Cody Kuda. The gates were sandblasted in Fulton by Joe Hosenfelt and powder coated by Show Me Powder Coating also of Fulton.
Caleb Moore and Sam Hunt from Thompson Plasma made the horse head decorations for the gates.
"We started the drawing plans two years ago due to needing something more decorative. All that was there before was a cattle panel. We got the inspiration for the new gate from a neighbor," said Bobette Balser Wilson co-president of Simmons' Stable Preservation.
"I love the new gate it is magnificent," said Mary White Littrell co-president of Simmons' Stable Perservation.
The new gate is on full display at the south entrance to Simmons' Stables located at 701 West Boulevard in Mexico.
