Norma Faye Brodie

Norma Faye Brodie, 94, of Mexico passed away peacefully at Pin Oaks Living Center July 10, 2024. Norma was born March 26, 1930 in Mulberry, Ark., the daughter of Ona Milton and Bonnie Mae (Floyd) Langley.

Norma loved to play her guitar and sing. Her dad bought her first guitar at the age of 13 and told her to go learn to play it. And that she did. Every other musical instrument that landed in her hands she taught herself how to play. She had the most beautiful singing voice and she used it in church and in nursing homes for many years.

Survivors include; one brother Thomas F. Langley of Ark.; three daughters, Brenda Smith of Mexico, Rita Fletcher of Virginia, and Virginia (Randy) Gilmore of Centralia; two sons, Michael Brodie of Mexico and Paul {Heather) Meyer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Frank Brodie and Loys Meyer; brothers Jerry and John Langley; sister, Ellen Louise Palmer, sons Frankie and Donald Debrodie; daughter, Linda Davidson; grandsons, Randoll Becker and Milton Davidson; granddaughter, Tasha Meyer, great-grandsons, Donald D. Becker and Joshua Malcomson.

Her body will be cremated under direction of Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, Missouri.

A celebration of life will be combined with that of her son Donald at a later date.
