The North Callaway Thunderbirds lost 32-16 to Montgomery County Friday night.
The Thunderbirds were up 8-7 after the first quarter and trailed 16-8 at the half and 18-16 entering the fourth quarter. Montgomery added a pair of touchdowns late in the game to add breathing room.
Montgomery quarterback Adam Czerniewski had 22 rushes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Czerniewski was 14-for-21 through the air for 143 yards and a touchdown. Logan Hutcheson had 103 yard rushing on 20 carries.
The Thunderbirds had 96 yards rushing as a team and 63 yards passing. Manny Moreno was the top rusher, with 29 yards on five carries. Moreno had a stand-out game on defense, with 14 solo tackles, an assist, sack and forced fumble.
Now 5-4, North Callaway heads to California Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
