The North Callaway girls lost their first two summer games on Friday in Higbee. The Ladybirds dropped scrimmage games to Fayette and Higbee, and they defeated Stanberry 39-29 after falling behind in the first half to move to 7-2 this summer.
Head coach Andrew Klein, who is going into his first year coaching the girls program, said North Callaway was shorthanded on this particular day but were able to give a couple upcoming eighth-graders, Anna Shryock and Livia Hartley, a chance against high school competition.
