The offense stayed relentless for North Callaway on Monday.
The Ladybirds defeated Russellville 13-5, outhitting the Lady Indians (0-2) 11-9 and scoring 10 of their runs in the first three innings.
“We really did a good job with our bats,” head coach Mariah McKee said. “Even the outs were loud.”
Abigail Schmidt led North Callaway (5-2) with four RBI, Kymorie Myers went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Megan Schmidt finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a RBI.
Lauren Speight and Liv Knoepflein didn’t walk a single batter in the circle, with Speight striking out six in 4⅓ innings and Knoepflein punching out three in 2⅔ innings. Russellville did hit two solo home runs in the fifth inning.
“Give credit to Russellville,” McKee said. “They never quit offensively and defensively.”
