Isiah Craighead is throwing his name in the ring at the college level.
The North Callaway senior signed with William Woods University track and field in Fulton and made his plans known on Thursday at a signing ceremony. Craighead comes off a season in which he qualified for sectionals in the javelin, an event he is expected to continue at William Woods.
Head coach Reid Randolph said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Craighead run in some relays with the Owls too. He also isn’t surprised that somebody of Craighead’s character is going to college. Randolph said Craighead’s status as a leader can be seen in his roles as being all-state in FBLA and all-world in FFA and as chairman of the Callaway Kids Bank Board of Directors.
“Isiah is a person whose leadership by example, year-round work ethic, and commitment to service have left a lasting impact on those around him,” Randolph said. “ Isiah's work ethic is a testament to his understanding that true success is built on consistent effort and perseverance. Isiah's example serves as a reminder that true leadership is not just about achieving personal goals but about making a positive impact on others and glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
