Kate Brown, 70, formerly of Centralia, died on December 2, 2024, at her home in Boonville after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease dementia.
She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 29, 1954, and was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Academy and the University of Missouri- Columbia. Kate was a Spanish teacher at Mexico and Harrisburg schools. She retired in 2012 after a 19-year teaching career. She loved her students and kept in touch with many after their graduation. She was the wife of Dr. Glenn Brown, formerly a superintendent at Centralia schools.
Kate is survived by her husband, Glenn Brown of Boonville, and her children, Abbie (Justin Giles) of Columbia, Colleen (Joseph Litwiller) of Boonville, and Sean (Lisa nèe Hoyer) of Columbia. She is also survived by five grandchildren, her sister, Barbara Cooke of Kansas City, and nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral arragements: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Church, 322 7th St., Boonville, Missouri, with open visitation at the church from 10:00 AM. Burial will be on a later date at Olivet Church graveyard in Columbia. Arrangements by Howard Funeral Home in Boonville.
