A Mexico man is in custody facing several drug-related charges after a Thursday afternoon raid. Joseph L. Lovell, 37, was arrested for allegedly distributing methamphetamine.
Officers of the East Central Drug Task Force, assisted by Audrain County Sheriff's deputies and members of the Mexico Public Safety Department executed a search warrant on a home in the 400 block of East Orange Street in Mexico on July 15. There they reportedly located an amount of meth suitable for delivery, items commonly used in the distribution and use of the drug, stolen property and a firearm.
Investigating officers also seized more than $4,500 in cash.
Lovell faces charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.
He is being held in the Audrain County Jail pending the filing of formal charges. Authorities are not releasing further information.
