Pappas wins No. 100 in Bulldog win at St. Elizabeth

Mexico boys basketball head coach Darren Pappas won his 100th career game, which all came on the sidelines for his alma mater, on Friday night. Four Bulldogs scored in double figures to defeat St. Elizabeth 81-67, including DJ Long with 24 points, Jaydon Eldridge with 17 points, Jordan Shelton with 12 points and Donye Nunnelly with 11 points.

“It’s big, but it’s really not about me. It’s about our program,” Pappas said. “It’s about the kids that we coach. It’s about my assistants — Bill Gleeson and Dion Nunnelly. Those guys are a huge part of our success. It takes a team to win those games. It’s not just one coach. We’ve been blessed and fortunate to have some really good players that followed our lead and listened to us, and that’s a credit to them.”
