The smell of fresh pancakes and sausage poured from the entrance to the community room at the Mexico United Methodist Church Feb. 7. Guests were treated to a plate piled high with the iconic breakfast cooked by the Kiwanis Club of Mexico and served with milk, juice or coffee by Mexico High School Key Club volunteers.
Pancake Day is the Kiwanis Club of Mexico’s largest fundraiser of the year. Chairperson Andy Craig said for an event this size, the Kiwanis Club goes through approximately 84 boxes of pancake mix. The funds raised from Pancake Day will go directly to the Kiwanis scholarship fund.
