Missouri Military Academy was able to close the wrestling regular season at home on Saturday in the MMA Colonels Classic.
MMA finished seventh out of 16 teams from all four classes in the state, and Deonte Kerns was second at 150 pounds to be the team's medalist after finishing in the top three. Kerns was one of 10 seniors honored during a brief break in the action for Senior Day, and the seniors returned the favor by presenting a signed team picture to their coaches Levi Iman, Thomas Allen and Elliot Rice.
James Grace fell one place shy of medaling after losing in the 144 third-place match but went 4-2 during the day. Daniel Bravo won three matches at 120, and senior Mason Quarles won three matches at 157.
MMA competes in districts on Feb. 20-21 at Lafayette County in Higginsville.
