A new facility is getting ready to be built at the POET, bioprocessing location in Laddonia.
"The new facility will allow us to capture over 200 ton per day in CO2 and also manufacture dry ice," said Steve Murphy, General Manager of POET in Laddonia.
According to a press release POET is the fastest growling renewable CO2 business in the United States as they sell the product for soda carbonation, food processing, and industrial uses.
The new facility will be located north of the administration building in Laddonia. Murphy estimates they will be hiring up to 12 people as they will need machine operators and truck drivers due to the expansion.
It will be a 24-hour, seven days a week operation with shifts lasting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The new plant is expected to be operational after the winter harvest this year, and will be fully operational in early 2024.
