Another round of Audrain Cares funding is available for nonprofit organizations which have not been able to execute their traditional fund raisers. This week the Audrain Commission set aside $250,000 for Mitigation Phase Four.
Eligible applicants can be reimbursed in cases where their normal fund raising activities could not be held due to COVID-19. For example, if an organization that benefited a civil purpose was unable to hold their annual dinner auction, they could apply for funds to replace the net proceeds of the missed event.
“These organizations help make up the fabric of our community and of Audrain County,” said Audrain Cares presiding commissioner Steve Hobbs. “Many have missed their normal fundraisers in an already bad year. Nonprofit type organizations provide so many services and do so much to help. Hopefully, we can help get them through this tough year.”
Hobbs notes that the grants are expected to be small but important to help these organizations.
Only non-profit type organizations may apply.
Interested parties should apply as soon as possible. Applicants will need to fill out a one-page application and turn it in at the courthouse.
Reimbursement from Audrain County Cares Funding requires the applicant to certify that records exist to support their application. Records may be required during the process or at a later date. Additionally, applicants may not have received other assistance for the same expense.
Applications are available at www.audraincounty.org. Applications will be accepted until Nov. 13 or until funds are exhausted. Questions may be directed to cares@audraincounty.org.
