Quade will make campaign stop in Mexico

A candidate for Missouri governor will be making a stop in Mexico this week.

Democrat Crystal Quade will be at the Audrain County Democrats’ club meeting on Monday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Audrain County Historical Museum at Graceland. The public is welcomed to attend.

Quade announced in July that she would be seeking her party’s nomination for governor. As of press time no other Democrat has announced a run. Quade will be the second candidate for governor to make a campaign stop in Mexico. Back in April Secretary of State John Ashcroft attended the Audrain County Republicans’ Lincoln Dinner shortly after announcing a run.

Quade holds a bachelor's degree from Missouri State University in social work and is the former services director for a non-profit that focuses on health, hunger and hygiene issues for children. Quade was first elected to Missouri’s 132nd District House seat in 2016 and less than a year later was elected the vice chairperson of the minority caucus. After winning reelection in 2018 Quade was elected House Minority Leader by her party.
