Ralph Dean Kaufman, 86, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. Private burial will be at a later date.
Ralph Dean was born on December 5, 1937 in Wellsville, the son of Joseph Andrew and Dorothy Grace (Debo) Kaufman. He was a 1956 graduate of Mexico High School.
Mr. Kaufman served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1965 as an aircraft mechanic. He obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was stationed all over the world, including Japan and Turkey.
Ralph Dean was an electrician for Kaisers Aluminum, later becoming National Refractories. He served over 10 years as the Union President and retired at the age of 62.
Mr. Kaufman was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Presbyterian Church. He really enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his sister, Judy (Mike) Hampton of Mexico; and his beloved dog, Snookie.
Ralph Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Kaufman.
