Mexico Family Medicine would like to congratulate and recognize Roberta Phillips-Stinnett AKA Susie, for her life-long dedication to the nursing field and celebrating 50 years of service in nursing this month.
Roberta graduated nursing school in 1975 and started her career at Audrain Medical Centrer making $3.09 an hour. In 1974 she went on to work on the third floor west wing of the hospital (or 3 West) as a Nurse Aide. During her nursing career she was in surgery for ten years, dermatology for two years, OBGYN for 30 years, and has been working in clinics for the last eight years. Roberta’s best memory during nursing was when her mother was a patient in the hospital when Roberta dropped a metal bed pan in another room – her mother knew right away it was Roberta who had dropped it. Roberta’s advice to new nurses is to keep going for more education.
Congratulations Roberta from your work family and the Mexico Ledger!
