Sandra “Sandy” Sue Qualls, 70, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Boone Hospital.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, at Elmwood Cemetery.

Sandy was born on November 27, 1953, in Mexico, the daughter of R.D. and Betty Marie (Marshall) Barnett. She was united in marriage to Dewey Qualls on February 23, 1973. Together, they shared a beautiful journey that spanned over 51 years.

Sandy had a deep love for family and found immense joy in her role as a babysitter, where she was cherished by all her "babysitting kids." She had a gift for making each child feel special and loved. Her passions included quilting and capturing family moments by taking photos often, ensuring that precious memories were preserved for generations. A devoted family woman, Sandy treasured every opportunity to spend time with her loved ones, and her gatherings were marked by laughter, love, and togetherness.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey; three sons, Michael (Michelle) Qualls, Shannon (Stacy) Qualls and Johnathon Qualls; nine grandchildren, Parker (Nicole) Qualls, Kaleigh (Shawn) Creed, Kaitlyn (Dalton) Matthiesen, Andrew (Darrian) Jahn, Peyton (Logan) Johnson Qualls, Colton (Megan) Johnson, Grant Qualls, Trenton Qualls and Cheyanne Qualls; seven great-grandchildren, Hudson Qualls, Knox Johnson, Kolson Creed, Lynlea Paschang, Benson Paschang, Gavin Creed and Kinley Creed; three brothers, Kevin (Teresa) Barnett, Terrell (Ghia) Barnett and Darrell (Ashley) Barnett; two sisters, Sheryl (Danny) Felix and Kimberly (Mike) Wenzel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Steve Humphrey; sister, Teresa Polacek; half-sister, Fern Epperson; and best friend, Mary Beth Cooley.
