Sarah A. Kent, 74, of Mexico, passed away at 7:57 a.m., Friday March 10, 2023, at University Hospital in Columbia.
A visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday March 14, 2023, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico.
A private family funeral will be held with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Sarah was born March 15, 1948, in Russellville, Mo. She was the daughter of James D. and Jerene (Thompson) Clibourn. On December 15, 1973, in Mexico, she married Ron C. Kent who survives.
Sarah worked as an accounting assistant for Gruber, Tanzey, and Associates for several years. She also worked as a teacher aide at Eugene Field for a short time, and years ago she was bookkeeper for Kline’s Department Store.
She was a member of the Lions Club and PEO where she held several leadership positions. She had also been a member of the Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association, and the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She enjoyed playing the piano and making and decorating cakes for family, friends and the community.
In addition to her husband Ron, she is survived by two sons, Brian Kent (Angie), of Columbia, and Andy Kent (Kelly), of St. Louis; one daughter, Katie Landers (Shawn), of Kansas City, Mo; one brother, Douglas Clibourn, of Boquete, Panama; and four grandchildren, Gabrielle Kent, Hannah Landers, Aiden Landers, and Lucie Kent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister-in-law, Samira El-Chehabi.
