An Audrain County Sheriff's deputy stopped a car along Highway 19 the night of Tuesday, Jan. 3, in Laddonia.
"They pulled the car into Casey's after noticing a truck plate on a car. The driver then took off running. The license plates on the vehicle that was stopped came back stolen. Sgt. Derek Chism and K9 Chal were called in. The dog tracked straight and true," said Audrain County Sheriff Matt Oller.
The passenger in the car identified the driver as 57-year-old Michael Behrens of Silex, according to Sheriff Oller.
"He is not a threat to the community and a probable cause statement has been submitted for driving on revoked and resisting detention or stop," said Sheriff Oller.
