Over $5,000 was raised this year for area youth in Audrain County for the annual Shop With a Cop.
50 kids were at the Mexico Walmart on Saturday, Dec. 10 to fill shopping carts with items on their Christmas wish list. Members from the Audrain County Sheriff's Department, Mexico Public Safety, Audrain County Conservation Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol helped the youngsters pick out gifts.
"This program was restarted in Audrain County in 2017," said Shop With a Cop coordinator and Audrain County Deputy Cody Burson. "I love how every year it brings smiles to the faces of kids and law enforcement. It is a fun time."
