The bases were already loaded when Brooklyn Glasgow smacked a single to center for Community R-6's first hit Thursday night at Hermann.
Sarah Angel had been hit by a pitch. Olivia Schafer walked and Lydia Forbis reached base after also being tagged by a pitch.
The sequence set the tone for the game as the Trojans obliterated Hermann 18-0 on only seven base hits.
Following Glasgow's single, there was another walk and another hit batsman before Paige Painter drove one to the gap in left. Community ran through their lineup twice in the first before being retired.
"The Trojans came out ready to play again tonight," said head coach Kody Asquith.
Indeed, Community batted around again in the second. Angel renewed the onslaught with a single. Schafer and Olivia Kuda drew walks and Rylee Rafferty slapped a base hit. Before it was over, the Trojans had tacked on six more runs.
Meanwhile Painter silenced Hermann from the circle, surrendering just one hit.
Kuda, Glasgow, Rafferty, Painter, Ivy Hays and Britney Meyers each drove in two runs.
Community's JV squad also blanked the hosts, winning 6-0.
Thunderbirds too much for Van-Far
All nine Thunderbirds recorded at least one hit as North Callaway ran rampant over Van-Far 15-0 at home on Thursday.
Ryelle Schmauch held the Indians in check over four innings, allowing just three hits and no bases on balls. Behind her, the Thunderbirds defense was flawless.
"We had an outstanding approach at the plate," observed North Callaway head coach Mariah McKee. "Ryelle pitched a great ballgame – a great all around game.
Leading the charge at the plate for the T-birds were Jalyn Leible and Ellie Bedsworth. Leible was 2 for 4 with a triple and 3 RBI. Bedsworth was unstoppable, going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Devyn Keller collected two of Van-Far's three hits, going 2 for 2 on the night. Mara Jensen had the other hit for the Indians.
Van-Far topped North Callaway 5-1 in the JV game.
