Paris boys win Sturgeon consolation, girls lose consolation game

The Coyotes defeated Community R-6 by a final score of 51-42 in the Sturgeon Tournament boys consolation final, earning fifth place and avenging a 49-35 loss on the Coyotes' Courtwarming on Jan. 20. Mason Edwards led Paris with 14 points and three 3-pointers, Evan Smothers followed with 13 points, and Colton Poddany finished with eight points. Mason Carroll led Community with 15 points and seven rebounds, and Gavin Allen followed with 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

The Lady Coyotes lost their consolation game 46-28 to New Bloomfield. Paris was outscored 21-9 in the third quarter and had 10 3-pointers dropped on them. Ashlyn Peters hit six of those 3-pointers, finishing with 27 points off the bench for New Bloomfield, and Reese Sutton led Paris with 10 points and six rebounds.
