“I’ve always dreamt of being an all-stater,” said Community R-6 girls basketball guard Brianna Beamer.
And now she can add All-State to her long list of accolades. Beamer was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 1 team. She is joined by Mexico’s Isaiah Reams and Mya Miller, named to the Class 5 team.
“My coaches and teammates have pushed me and believed in me from the beginning,” Reams said. “It’s really something that’s going to motivate me going into next year to be even better.”
Reams and Miller will return for a senior season with the Bulldogs. Both see the honor as recognition of hard work put in and as a challenge for the future.
“I am so blessed to be one of the very few players chosen as All-State,” Miller said. “I feel like next year the expectations are very high and it’s just time for me to work harder than ever.”
Reams was part of a Mexico boys squad that advanced to the final eight in state. The Bulldogs’ girls squad won conference and went to the district finals, as did Community.
Clayton Ebers from Wellsville-Middletown earned boys Class 2 All-State honors.
