The North Callaway Thunderbirds remained undefeated Friday night with a 56-0 home win over the Van-Far Indians.
“Overall, it was a great defensive performance,” said Thunderbirds coach Travis Blevins. “And the offense really stepped up.
The T-Birds scored 13 in the first quarter and led 33-0 at the half in the homecoming shutout.
Senior Payton Olsson caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Olsson also broke an 86-yard run for a touchdown.
But most of the Thunderbirds' assault came on the ground, as they racked up 360 yards rushing in a run-by-committee. Senior Trevor Ray led the team collecting 91 yards on 11 runs, with two touchdowns.
Quarterback Braydn O’Neal completed five passes for 154 yards.
The win improves the Thunderbirds to 3-0.
Van-Far junior Brandon Eoff broke a 38-yard run and finished the game with 119 yards on 17 runs. Van-Far is now 0-4.
Callaway heads to Stafford Friday night.
