The North Callaway Thunderbirds are 1-2 on the young season, defeating Kirksville 18-8 on Saturday, March 19. Their two losses have come at the hands of South Callaway, a 6-3 defeat March 19, and Fulton, who defeated the T-Birds 5-1 last Monday. The Fulton contest carried special meaning, as both teams honored veterans during the game.
Highlighting the season so far was a huge performance from Davis Woods, who drove in nine in three innings, hitting two grand slams and walking another run in for a historic performance.
Monday’s game against Blair Oaks was canceled. The Thunderbirds were scheduled to host Van-Far Tuesday and will head to Wright City Thursday, with a 4:30 start time.
