Raids on two hotel rooms led to the arrest of nine people in separate incidents last week.
During the morning hours of Friday, April 16 members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office received information that a wanted fugitive was occupying a motel room at the America’s Value Inn, located in the 4200 block of South Clark Street in Mexico.
The fugitive was identified as Robert Allen Meek, 24 of Mexico, who was wanted on a felony parole violation arrest warrant issued by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Just before 10:30 a.m., members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the motel and located Meek in a room, at which time he was taken into custody on the arrest warrant. During the arrest, deputies reportedly located methamphetamine on Meek and observed drug paraphernalia in plain view within the motel room.
As a result, four others in the room were detained and a search warrant was granted obtained.
During the service of the search warrant, additional amounts of meth, marijuana, a handgun, and items of drug paraphernalia were seized.
Meek faces three drug-related charges in addition to parole violation. Also taken into custody were Loren Meek, 31 of Mexico, Rhaionna Coalwell, 22 of Mexico, Nickolus Robinson, 25 of Mexico and Tory Burgeson, 26 of Mexico.
All face charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robinson faces an additional charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the East Central Drug Task Force.
Four days earlier, on the afternoon of April 12, officers acting on a narcotics-related search warrant arrested four people in a room at the Amerihost Inn and Suites in the 900 block of Vance Road in Mexico, Missouri.
Authorities arrested Scott Horton, 44 of Mexico, and Renea Hill, 38 of Benton City, on allegations of drug trafficking. Two others — Chad Helton, 35 of Mexico, and Trey Reynolds, 26 of Vandalia — face charges of possession of methamphetamine.
The Drug Task Force, working with deputies and Mexico Public Safety Department officers, reported finding approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, controlled pharmaceuticals, drug paraphernalia and cash in the room. All items were seized.
