Since taking over ownership of your Mexico Ledger in 2000, we promised we would bring local news back to Audrain County. Week by week, we have fulfilled that promise by placing a renewed focus on local news, local sports, local names and local faces. If it’s local, it deserves to be in your newspaper. And we have been thankful for the support from subscribers and advertisers who have helped us publish a better newspaper over the past two years.
If you receive a free Mexico Ledger at your home or business on Wednesdays, your last edition will be thrown on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Beginning the following week, only paid subscribers will receive The Ledger on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Like many businesses, our expenses in recent months have risen considerably and forced us to this change. This decision was not taken lightly, and we held off on making this move for as long as financially possible.
While many of the corporate chains are cutting frequency and staff, our independent, family-owned company is committed to making The Ledger even better. The content we produce for our readers will not change. In recent months, we have added staff to bring our readers as much local news and sports as possible.
For a short time, we are offering a $40 annual subscription to anyone with an Audrain County mailing address. To redeem this offer, give us a call at 573-581-1111, visit us online at mexicoledger.com/localnews or mail the coupon located in an ad in the Wednesday edition.
Instead of the paper being thrown in your driveway, it will now arrive in your mailbox. If you are not a paid subscriber, we ask you to consider making us part of your weekly routine and continue to support us so we can make sure we bring you the local coverage you expect and deserve for many years to come.
Thanks for your continued support,
