Valentine's Day will get a lot 'sweeter' this year while supporting local businesses, and all you have to do is eat chocolate.
The Mexico Village Square Association will be hosting the 2022 Chocolate Crawl shopping event that will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Patrons are invited to shop local retailers while sampling a variety of chocolate treats along the way and collecting stamps in your "passport" to win prizes.
Many stores in the Downtown Historic District will participate in the fun, including Serendipity, Kate's Hallmark Shop, The Sparkly Pig, Melody's Quality Jewelry, Martha Rose, Jim Stubblefield Furniture, Merle Norman, and Cassie & Frances Photography.
The Village Square President Barb Wilson said, “The participating businesses are so excited to host the Chocolate Crawl again this year. It's always fun for all of us to have a chance to visit with customers and showcase our businesses.”
The VSA encourages the community to shop local, love local, and join the Chocolate Crawl on Saturday as a prelude to Valentine's Day. The event provides the perfect opportunity to shop for Valentine's gifts while having a sweet treat for yourself. “The sun is supposed to shine on Saturday and we hope lots of people will come out to shop local and enjoy some chocolate treats!”
"You can't buy love, but you can buy local!"

The VSA is an organization of local downtown businesses. Each month, business owners come together to promote Mexico, increase interest in the community, and organize events to increase visitors to the downtown.
