Voters will have a decision to make on Mexico council

One more person has added their name to the race for two open seats on the Mexico City Council.

With the addition of Joshua Price, who filed late Friday afternoon, Dec. 15, there is a total of three candidates which means voters will have a choice. Both incumbents, current Mayor Vicki Briggs and Council Member Chris Miller, have filed for re-election.

The Mexico Public Schools Board of Education has three seats opening up for election in April. Board President Keith Louder, Treasurer Michelle Stephens, and BOE Member Lennette Brown, will all have to seek re-election if they want to remain on the board. Louder and Stephens’ seats are three-year terms while Brown’s seat is a two-year term. Brown and Stephens have both filed for re-election. Jennifer Gore, who ran for the BOE last April, has also filed.
