Walter G. “Red” Furlong, 61, Sturgeon, passed away Sun., Dec. 17, 2023, at his home. He was born February 23, 1962, in Fulton, the son of the late Walter and Mary Lou (Love) Furlong. On October 25, 1980, he married Karen (Griffith) Furlong.
He is survived by his wife Karen of 43 years, one daughter April Nicole (Tyler) Swartz of Sturgeon; one brother Donald “Rusty” (Connie) Furlong; four sisters Jackie Smith, Mary Creason, Wilma Smith and Zelda White; and two grandchildren In addition to his parents, four brothers Stephen Furlong, James Furlong, Edward Furlong and William Furlong and two sisters Betty Furlong and Carla Morgan preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 22, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon.
