The public is welcome to add add a wildflower walk to their spring bucket list from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 16 at Scattering Fork Outdoor Center, 15640 Audrain Road 815, Mexico.
Masses of wildflowers will be blooming along both of the center’s trails; trees are blooming too.
The challenge? To find all the wildflowers on your card!
The short trail is .2 miles long and the long trail, .8 miles.
“We welcome you to come out and enjoy them all,” said a spokesperson. “It is easy. We will guide you or you may take a map and find them all on your own.”
Along the way, tree frogs will be peeping, turkeys gobble and mushrooms are popping. Deer, raccoons and possums have left their tracks to find.
“We also have activities for all ages including tasting violet, elderberry and wild plum jelly,” said a spokesperson.
