Two people, Guadalupe Rangal Lara, 34, of Fulton; and Montalee Burks, 61, of Columbia sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 16 on westbound U.S. 54 at Route HH, Audrain County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the westbound 2014 Honda Accord, driven by Rangal Lara, struck the rear of the westbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Burks. Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway.
Rangal Lara and Burks were both taken by ambulance to University Hospital, Columbia. They were each wearing their seatbelt at the time of the wreck. Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
