After two losses, the Centralia boys still had shooting struggles but were victorious on Tuesday night.
The Panthers won 44-38 at California, holding a 12-point 27-15 lead they built at halftime. The Pintos (3-3) outscored Centralia 23-18 in the second half, but head coach Scott Humphrey said the game plan was executed well to snap the team’s two-game losing streak.
“We got out to a fast start,” Humphrey said. “We struggled in the second half getting shots to fall.”
Noah Kropf led the Panthers (3-3) with 14 points, and Logan Rosenfelder followed with 12 points.
Centralia played its Clarence Cannon Conference opener Thursday night at South Shelby (3-4), winning 45-39.
Lady Panthers makes it six straight in 44-32 win vs Blair Oaks
The Centralia girls are surging into their next game against a state-ranked opponent.
The Lady Panthers defeated Blair Oaks 44-32 at home Tuesday night, extending their winning streak to six games and avenging last season’s 63-53 loss against the Lady Falcons (2-5).
Jozelynn Bostick led with 18 points, five offensive rebounds and three steals, Morgan Ross followed with nine points, three rebounds and one steal, and Harper Sontheimer had six points, six rebounds and three steals.
Centralia looked to keep up its winning ways in its Clarence Cannon Conference opener Thursday night at Class 3 No. 3 South Shelby (6-1), losing 50-43. It was the Lady Panthers first game against a state-ranked opponent since their 63-41 season-opening loss to Class 4 No. 7 California
