Landen Chapman had the fastest time all day on Saturday at Gans Creek in Columbia.

Chapman’s time is also the best in the Paris record books as his time of 16:45.33 broke his own school record of 17:12.30 from last year. The Coyotes finished 11th out of 19 schools at 257 points, and the Lady Coyotes were fifth out of 10 schools with 131 points. Garrett Hopke was a medalist for Van-Far with a 19th-place time of 18:22.14 in the boys 5K, Grace Rasmussen medaled for North Callaway with a 23rd-place time of 23:08.29 in the girls 5K, and Christopher Song had the best time of Missouri Military in 52nd with a time of 19:29.23.

Chapman was 33 seconds better than the runner-up, and the next best Paris boy finishers were Hayden DeOrnellas with a 60th-place time of 19:44.63 and Severino Olivas in 66th with a 19:54.33. Mairyn Kinnaman was the top Paris girl finisher with a 14th-place time of 21:58.94 to medal, and next was Kaylee Johnson in 30th out of 123 runners with a 23:57.55 and Ava Crain in 41st with a 24:40.56.

For Van-Far, Slade Keller was the only other boy runner that finished 65th out of 199 runners with a 19:53.90, and Erin Childs was the only girl that finished 48th with a 25:08.45. Emerson Reinhard was the only North Callaway boy — like Rasmussen was the only girl — and finished 88th with a 20:46.76. Missouri Military Academy’s other top finishers were Jesus Robinson in 76th with a 20:18.82 and Jacob Stallone in 113th with a 21:22.
