There have been several games this fall baseball season where Community R-6 has scored double-digit runs or has allowed double-digits runs.
Monday’s game at Higbee was the former as Community scored its most this fall season with a 21-2 three-inning victory. It is the most the Trojans have scored during the fall since a 25-6 win at Macon County last season on Sept. 4.
Community (4-4) started big right off the bat against Higbee (1-4) with 11 runs in the first inning. The team finished with 11 hits in the game.
Carter Schafer led by going 3-for-4 with six RBIs, Alex Poindexter was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Nik Crider had three RBIs and was walked twice, and Connor Maxwell finished 2-for-3 with three runs. Crider pitched three innings with five strikeouts, four walks, and one hit.
Community hosts Central Activities Conference foe Madison (0-1) at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24.
