The Trojans then allowed 10 runs in the seventh and committed half of their eight errors in the inning to lose to their Central Activities Conference foe 16-7 at home. Community lost two days prior to Hermann, 17-4 at home, after allowing 12 runs in one inning.
Community (4-6, 0-2 CAC) had a 3-1 lead after the first inning after a Kaiden Erdel RBI single and then took the lead back from Sturgeon (6-4, 4-1 CAC) in the third inning 5-4 following a two-RBI double by Erdel. He went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Nik Crider finished 2-for-4 with a home run to lead off the seventh inning, and Lane Carter went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs and one RBI.
Kyler Swaim pitched 6⅔ innings with eight hits, six strikeouts, five earned runs out of eight total runs allowed and two walks. Community allowed eight unearned runs after he was taken off the mound.
