Community R-6 golf made itself comfortable at Mosswood Meadows in Monroe City.
On March 25, there were 33 golfers in attendance for the quad meet involving Monroe City, Mark Twain and Macon. Kaden Erdel placed ninth with a 52 and Houston Hogan placed 11th with a 54. Monroe City won the quad with a team score of 184.
On March31, the Trojans were back in action at Mosswood and saw Ezra Johnson fire a 50, Hayden Swaim a 52 and Braysen Glasgow a 55 to all be good enough for top-15 finishes. Coltin Cope was the team’s fourth qualifying score with a 63 in his first competition as a freshman. Community’s team score was a 220, which was just two strokes from tying Class 2 Macon’s 218.
“We're getting better,” head coach Bob Curtis said. “With 18 golfers this spring, there is competition for the first five spots on varsity. It should be fun.
