Community R-6 bounced back after a 5-13 fall season.

Those same Trojans finished the spring season with a 13-8 record for their fourth straight winning season and sixth straight season advancing at least as far as the district semifinals. This year’s Class 1 District 9 semifinals ended for Community in a 5-4 walk-off loss to New Haven.

Cooper Rohan and Nik Crider each were named all-Central Activities Conference and all-district players before they each return next year. Senior Drake Welch was named as an all-conference honorable mention and all-district player.

Rohan finished with a .274 batting average, a .411 on-base percentage, 21 RBIs, 20 hits, 20 runs and 15 stolen bases as a hitter and had a 3.21 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, a .242 batting average against and 66 strikeouts in 52⅓ innings as the team’s best pitcher.

Crider was Community’s best hitter with a .466 batting average, 1.177 OPS, 34 hits, 23 runs, 16 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and seven doubles and finished with a 3.50 ERA in 16 innings on the mound.

Welch had a .310 batting average, a .560 on-base percentage, 30 runs, 18 hits, 16 RBIs, 12 stolen bases and five doubles at the plate and a .235 batting average against as a pitcher.
