Lady Trojans limit, unable to beat Glasgow in 42-32 loss
The Community R-6 girls thought they made it hard on Glasgow on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough.
The Lady Trojans lost to Central Activities Conference first-place Glasgow 42-32 at home. Community (13-10, 6-3 CAC) trailed 11-10 at halftime and 22-17 going into the fourth quarter.
Head coach Bob Curtis said Halle Fuemmeler finished with 27 points for Glasgow (18-6, 7-1 CAC), but they were “hard-to-get points.” He said Community executed the defensive game plan well and this was also the case on the offensive side.
“We were so close and the girls fought so hard,” Curtis said. “I just wanted a couple of those buckets to fall for our team as they executed the game plan to perfection.”
Peyton Beamer led Community with nine points and three assists, Jocelyn Curtis had seven points and nine assists, and Kaytlynn Arens finished with six points.
Curtis said he likes where his team is at after playing a “brutal” schedule over the last four weeks with seven against potential 20-game winners and three against state-ranked teams.
Community plays at North Shelby (15-9) at 6 p.m. today.

Community held Fulton to six points in the second half.
"Defensively, I was proud of how we responded in the second half," Carroz said. "Our full-court pressure made a big difference. We were much more aggressive, created turnovers, and forced them out of their rhythm."
