Centralia seeks volunteers to help put up the Avenue of Flags at the Centralia City Cemetery for the July 4 weekend.
Flags will be raised 5 p.m., July 2, and lowered 5 p.m., July 6.
The city asks that volunteers follow social distancing guidelines as they help to erect the flags. At least 497 flags will be raised. Volunteers should meet at the Veterans Memorial Flag display at 5 p.m. to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and to sing the national anthem before raising flags.
Volunteers should park on side streets along the cemetery to allow room for the truck and trailer to drop flag poles. For more information, call City Cemetery Sexton Phyllis Brown at 573-682-2139.
