A free youth basketball skills clinic will be given on Saturday, July 31, in the gymnasium at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 1000 Dorcas Street, in Mexico. The morning clinic will be for kids in grades three through five and the afternoon clinic is for grades six through eight; spots are limited in each.
To reserve a spot call 573-581-5655. The clinic will be led by Greg McGhee, a Kansas City area director of athletics and by a past student of his, who now is a college basketball player. McGhee is the son-in-law of a St. John’s Church member, Sharon Helling.
“When Greg offered to do the free clinic for Mexico youth, I jumped on the opportunity to make this available with the help of St. John’s.” Helling said. “We encourage interested participants to sign up ASAP as we are keeping clinic class size small to provide maximum benefits to participants.”
For more information contact Sharon Helling by emailing dhelling@socket.net or the St. John’s Lutheran Church by calling 573-581-5655.
