Lady Trojans fall short 4-2 to Montgomery County

Posted

Community R-6 couldn't pick up that RBI hit on Monday.

The Class 1 No. 8 Lady Trojans scored twice on passed balls in the second and fifth innings but fell short at home to Class 2 No. 10 Montgomery County 4-2. Reese Hill and Aliviah Fischer each hit solo home runs for the Lady Wildcats, and Hill struck out 13 Lady Trojans in seven innings while allowing one earned run on four hits and one walk. Jocelyn Curtis allowed three earned runs on eight hits and three walks and struck out five in seven innings and was supported when Lydia Hoyt and then Braelyn Kuda scored on passed balls. Community left a runner stranded at third base to end the game on a Aaliyah Welch drive that died at the fence.

Community hosts Louisiana (11-7) at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
