The Thunderbirds finished with nine hits while Megan Schmidt pitched a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts, one walk and one unearned run. Kymorie Myers led the North Callaway offense by going 2-for-4 with five RBIs, three runs and a double, Liv Knoepflein was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three doubles and Mady Gordon was 3-for-4 two runs.

Carly Hunn scored Van-Far's only run in the third innings after she was walked to lead off the inning and rounded the bases on three passed balls.

Centralia won its fourth straight game while scoring at least nine runs in that stretch with a 15-5 win at Battle on Thursday in Columbia. The Lady Panthers finished with 17 hits and had nine combined RBIs from Nos. 2-4 hitters Ealynne Bostick, Cora King and Kassena Ridgel. Ridgel went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and a triple, King had three RBIs and Bostick finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Raleigh Dutton added two RBIs. Paris 8 Cairo 7 in Paris

Paris (3-0) stayed undefeated on Thursday while beating the same team it did last year in the Class 1 state quarterfinals. The Lady Coyotes defeated Cairo (2-1) 8-7 despite allowing all seven runs in the final three innings. The 8-5 Paris lead after six innings held thanks partly to the efforts of Katie Cummins (3-for-4 with two RBIs) and Adelynn Thomas (three-RBI home run). Thomas crushed her home run in a four-run fifth inning, and Cummins had the game-winning RBI single in the sixth inning.

Each team finished with five errors, and Ava Crain ended up allowing six unearned runs for Paris with 11 hits and five strikeouts.

Paris plays at Wellsville-Middletown (0-1) at 5 p.m. Monday.
