The Veterinary Technology Program at Moberly Area Community College – Mexico has recently received a $50,000 grant from the Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase a digital radiography unit for MACC’s Veterinary Technology program.
Students will utilize the digital radiography unit to learn proper positioning and technique for performing radiographs on small animal species. “The MACC Veterinary Technology program would like to thank the Allen P. and Josephine B. Green Foundation for their support,” said Stephanie Gilliam, Director of Veterinary Technology at MACC, “This equipment will allow the veterinary technology students to gain the hands-on experience they need to be successful in their future careers.”
The new two-year Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology program is set to begin this August at the MACC-Mexico. The degree program will prepare students to work alongside veterinarians to provide veterinary health care to a variety of species of animals, and to work alongside veterinary specialists, other veterinary students, and registered veterinary technicians.
The training graduates receive at MACC will prepare them for success in their careers as veterinary technicians, along with an abundance of hands-on learning opportunities. The first class of students for the Veterinary Technology Program at MACC-Mexico is scheduled to start this fall.
