Jyllian Whitworth has been good with a racket in recent years.
The Mexico tennis alum and Drury University pickleball sophomore won the girls 18 and under tennis competition at the 2024 Show-Me State Games in Columbia and won again at this year’s Show-Me State games — this time in the women’s 3.5 pickleball division — on June 15.
Whitworth played tennis in high school for Mexico but also had time on the smaller pickleball court, which led to her college signing with Drury in Springfield. She rose the ranks on her team to play in the travelling squad.
Drury participates in national competitions.
“I am really looking forward to our coming college season and the experiences that it will bring,” Whitworth said.
